MEMORIAL DAY 2019 IN MIAMI IS HOTTER THAN EVER

While it might feel like summer all year long in Miami, Memorial Day weekend kicks summer into high gear. Plus, there are even tons of things to do the weeks prior to the holiday weekend. To help you plan an exciting South Florida vacation, here are some the best Miami events and festivals for Memorial Day 2019 and the beginning of the summer.

Miami Events in May

May is really when Miami events start to pop up all over town. ๐Ÿ”—The H.O.T. Challenge Golf Tournament on May 10, ๐Ÿ”—Rolling Loud Festival May 10 - 12, ๐Ÿ”—New Times Brew at the Zoo on May 11, and the ๐Ÿ”—Redland International Orchid Show May 17 - 19 are also popular events to check out throughout the Miami in May.

Memorial Day Weekend in Miami

๐Ÿ”—The Air & Sea Show and the Musical Explosion festival takes place May 25 and 26 on Miami Beach. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, and it features fireworks, sand sculpting, motocross, and more. You canโ€™t miss the iconic Blue Angels in action.

Beats of the Music Fest is also Memorial Day weekend along Miamiโ€™s Bayfront Park. Check out the best in hip-hop, pop, and reggae with tickets starting at $30.

Interested in tasting your way through the weekend? The ๐Ÿ”—Coconut Grove Food & Wine Festival is on May 25 and has been running for 25 years. This event features the best food and drinks from Coconut Grove restaurants. Buy your tickets starting at $25 or $75 for unlimited drinks and VIP access.

Miami Events and Festivals in June

๐Ÿ”—The World Dance Summer Intensive hosted by Dance Now Miami, which takes place June 10 - 14, offers workshops and classes at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. Learn more about ballet, modern dance, jazz, contemporary, West African, and Afro Haitian styles of dance. You can experience more of Miamiโ€™s art and culture at The American Black Film Festival June 12 - 16. June in Miami is also a great time for foodies of all kinds. The ๐Ÿ”—Redland Summer Fruit Festival is June 22 - 23 in Homestead at the Fruit & Spice Park. Month-Long Events to Kick Off Summer

๐Ÿ”—Out in the Tropics is a month-long event that kicks off May 24 and ends June 24. This event features multi-disciplinary artistic performances at venues like Centro Cultural Espaรฑol, The Gleason Room at The Fillmore, and The Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Tickets start at $25.

๐Ÿ”—The City Theatreโ€™s Summer Shorts event is returning for its 23rd season from May 30 to June 30 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. This fest is Americaโ€™s Short Play Festival, showcasing only 10-minute plays.

While not the entire month, the ๐Ÿ”—Coral Gables restaurant week is from June 4 - 24 offering deals and discounts at more than 40 participating restaurants throughout the area. Treat yourself to fine cuisine and carefully crafted cocktails at spots along Miracle Mile and in Downtown Coral Gables.
