Miami Events in May
May is really when Miami events start to pop up all over town. The Cinco De Mayo block party along the Brickell Avenue waterfront is a lively party with plenty of margaritas and Mexican food to keep you happy. The Air & Sea Show and the Musical Explosion festival takes place May 25 and 26 on Miami Beach. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, and it features fireworks, sand sculpting, motocross, and more. You can’t miss the iconic Blue Angels in action.
Beats of the Music Fest is also Memorial Day weekend along Miami’s Bayfront Park. Check out the best in hip-hop, pop, and reggae with tickets starting at $30.

From June 18 - 23, Broadway’s Come From Away Musical at the Adrienne Arsht Center is an award-winning production based on the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers on 9/11 in a town called Newfoundland. Month-Long Events to Kick Off Summer
Out in the Tropics is a month-long event that kicks off May 24 and ends June 24. This event features multi-disciplinary artistic performances at venues like Centro Cultural Español, The Gleason Room at The Fillmore, and The Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Tickets start at $25.
The City Theatre’s Summer Shorts event is returning for its 23rd season from May 30 to June 30 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. This fest is America’s Short Play Festival, showcasing only 10-minute plays.
While not the entire month, the Coral Gables restaurant week is from June 4 - 24 offering deals and discounts at more than 40 participating restaurants throughout the area. Treat yourself to fine cuisine and carefully crafted cocktails at spots along Miracle Mile and in Downtown Coral Gables.
